Quitting his Corporate Job that earned a six digit salary which lacked satisfaction and happiness H. Javalinga Babu wanted to do something different connected with his family background- farming.
His natural instinct to contribute back to Mother Nature overtook his ambitions of a corporate job and lead him to Sandalwood planting, the aromatic tree which is endemic to our land and pride of Karnataka State.
This valuable species was on the verge of extinction at end of last millennium due to smugglers ridden by greed cutting even immature trees for the high prices it was fetching. Public were restricted by the government to grow sandal trees. Due to lifting of such ban around year 2000, Mr Javalinga Babu’s journey of Sandalwood farming started.
Sandalwood is an Expensive and Elite affair for farmers to grow, hence he decided to do corporate farming practiced by developed nations ( group of farmers coming together and farming ).
Mr Javalinga Babu has built a customer base of over 800 farmers and has till date grown around 40,000 sandalwood trees. His professionalism, in-depth study of sandalwood and success has now made him a sought after International Sandalwood Consultant in India as well as nations like Republic of Malawi ,Indonesia and Thailand who have engaged his services in farming the valuable sandalwood. His efforts have now rejuvenated the once endangered species of sandalwood trees and spread the commercial farming to international levels.
